This degree, designed for high-achieving secondary school leavers, provides the opportunity for you to progress directly into our Doctor of Medicine (5099)*.
In your first year, you will be introduced to the basic sciences underpinning medical science - chemistry, biology, anatomy, physiology, microbiology, genetics, and biostatistics. In second year, you will study these areas in greater depth and take medically focused courses in immunology, infectious disease, pharmacology, and biochemistry. You'll also learn to integrate and apply the knowledge learned in your first and second year by studying our Integrative Medical Sciences course. You'll understand the concepts of foundational sciences that underpin disease and develop skills of problem-solving and clinical reasoning.
Honours is available through an additional year of study.
