You will be prepared to work as a paramedic in a range of traditional and non-traditional settings. You will gain clinical decision-making, problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and will learn about human body systems, paramedic practice, the management of conditions, disease states and trauma.
You will also develop strong practical skills through clinical simulation delivered through Griffith's extensive range of simulation facilities and will complete a range of clinical placements to enhance your professional practice.
Honours is available through an additional year of study.

Program accreditation
The Bachelor of Paramedicine program is approved by the Paramedicine Board of Australia and accredited by the Paramedicine Accreditation Committee.
Professional recognition
Graduates of the Bachelor of Paramedicine program will be eligible to apply for registration as a Paramedic with the Paramedicine Board of Australia via the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) subject to meeting any additional requirements that may be stipulated by the Paramedicine Board of Australia. As these requirements may change from time to time, students should contact AHPRA to confirm registration requirements.
Graduates will also be eligible to become a member of the Australasian College of Paramedicine and/or the Australasian College of Paramedic Practitioners.
Attendance information
The Bachelor of Paramedicine is a three-year degree offered full-time on-campus at the Gold Coast. Intensive teaching periods and online course content will be available.
The Bachelor of Paramedicine will run over three trimesters in Years 1 and 2; Trimester 1 and Trimester 2 only in Year 3; and students will be able to graduate at the end of Year 3.
As a full-time student, you will generally attend 15-20 hours of scheduled classes per week throughout the trimester.
If you are an International student on a student visa, you must ensure that you enrol in a way that will allow you to complete your enrolment within the expected program duration as stated on your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE).
My career opportunities
Graduates of this degree will be able to apply for employment as a graduate level paramedic within Australia (following registration) and a number of other countries. Other careers areas may also include the military, mining and other commercial paramedic opportunities.
No valid regional qualifications
There is no recognised regional qualification in the selected region that meets the pre-requisite entry requirements for this program.
Pathways
Post-secondary qualifications are required for entry into this program.
Successful completion of one year of study at a recognised tertiary or higher education institution is required in addition to the completion of high school studies.

English language requirements apply to International applicants and other applicants whose previous study was undertaken in a language other than English. The minimum English language requirements for such applicants for entry to this program are as follows:
A minimum overall band score of 7.0 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 7.0
OR a minimum score of 580 on TOEFL
OR an internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 92 (no sub-score less than 22)
OR no score less than 4 in each skill of the ISLPR (conducted by ISLPR Language Services only)
OR a minimum overall score of 185 (no score less than 176) on C2 Proficiency (formerly Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English)
OR an overall score of 65 in the Pearson Test of English (Academic) with no score less than 65.
Tuition fees
An International student pays tuition fees.
Students are liable for tuition fees for the courses they are enrolled in as at the census date.
The tuition fee for students who commence their program prior to 2014 is charged according to the approved program fee for the trimester in which the student commenced the program.
