Keen to get started and enter the workforce sooner? We offer micro sessions (six eight-week blocks across the year) so you can complete a degree that normally takes three and a half years full-time in just three years (or part-time equivalent). You can choose to study full-time or part-time, on campus or online. If you study full-time, you complete two subjects per micro session; study part-time and you do one. Plus, if you hold a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science or the Cert III in Specimen Collection, you could receive credit, meaning you finish even sooner.
When you graduate from your pathology degree you'll be qualified for accreditation and eligible for membership with the Australian Institute of Medical Scientists (AIMS). For each 8-point subject you are enrolled in, you should expect to spend 10 to 12 hours per week working on assignments and assigned readings, tutorial assistance, individual or group research/study, forum activity, workplace learning, and attending lectures, intensive schools, or examinations. If you are studying four subjects per session, this is equivalent to a full-time job. The workload for some subjects may vary as a result of approved course design.
