Our Pre-Master’s pathway provides a learning environment of small class sizes, and you will learn critical skills for postgraduate study such as research, communication, and the core principles of Social Science. Upon successful completion, you will progress seamlessly to your chosen Master’s degree at the University of Portsmouth.
Academic Requirements
Foundation
Year 0 (Foundation) - Completion of HSC: (New GPA system) GPA of 2.00 or (Old system) grade C with no less than 45% in any subject
First Year
Year 1 Business and Management, Accounting and Finance - Completion of HSC: (New GPA system) GPA 3.00 or (Old system) grade B with no less than 55% in any subject
Year 1 Computing, Engineering, Property and Surveying - Completion of HSC: (New GPA system) GPA 3.00 or (Old system) grade B with no less than 65% in any subject
Year 1 - Science - please refer to the table below for course specific and subject specific criteria - Completion of HSC: (New GPA system) GPA 3.00 or (Old system) grade B with no less than 65% in any subject (including Chemistry, Biology and Maths where required)
Pre-Master's
Pre-Master's - 3 year bachelor degree with overall 50% or above
OR
Completion of 4 years bachelor’s degree with pass class or above
English Language Requirements
IELTS: 6.0 not less that 5.5
TOEFL: 72 with a minimum of: 18 in Reading, 17 in Listening, 20 in Speaking, 17 in Writing
Pearson Test of English (PTE): 51 points with a minimum of 51 in each component
