Attendance information
The Master of Civil Engineering is offered full-time, part-time and on-campus at the Gold Coast.
If you are an International student on a student visa, you must ensure that you enrol in a way that will allow you to complete your enrolment within the expected program duration as stated on your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE).
My career opportunities
You will be prepared for a wide range of senior roles in the building, construction, infrastructure, and mining industries undertaking projects for a variety of public and private sector clients. More specifically, you will provide structural analysis and design services to engineering projects such as roads, bridges, tunnels, water distribution networks and high-rise buildings.
Given the current shortage of civil engineering graduates and experienced civil engineers in Australia, coupled with the huge investment in infrastructure projects nationally and internationally, this degree will enable recently qualified engineering graduates to improve their specialist technical skills.
To be eligible for admission to Master of Civil Engineering, a student must hold:
a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent three year or four year Civil Engineering undergraduate degree from a recognised university (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing)
OR a Bachelor Honours degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent four year Civil Engineering undergraduate degree from a recognised university (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing)
OR a Graduate Certificate in Civil Engineering.
Students admitted to the program with a Bachelor Honours degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent four year Civil Engineering undergraduate degree or a Graduate Certificate in Civil Engineering will be eligible for 40 credit points of advanced standing towards the program. Trimester 2 entry is only available to students admitted with advanced standing.
Note: Only graduates of civil engineering will be admitted to this program due to its focus on technical design. The program is, therefore, not suitable to other engineering graduates.
