Attendance information
This program is offered full-time and part-time at the Gold Coast campus.
The program is tailored to the needs of practising dentists and is designed to upskill general dentists in their chosen major. Over the period of study it will combine face-to-face seminars, pre-clinical training, lectures, supervised clinical practice, mentoring and finish with a research project.
Face-to-face seminars, pre-clinical training and supervised clinical training will require on-campus attendance at Griffith University. Due to the need for students to develop complex clinical and technical skills throughout this program, and the flexible mode of delivery, courses may extend beyond the standard teaching trimester (that is, commencing earlier and extending later than the standard teaching trimester). Exact dates over which these extended courses will run will be published on a trimester-by-trimester basis in the Academic Calendar.
The program aims to directly benefit practitioners by enabling the immediate transfer of the developed competencies into clinical practice as the student advances through the program. In addition, the student will be encouraged to document and share experiences from his/her practice.
The School of Medicine and Dentistry delivers electronic assessment via ExamSoft's Examplify application. Students enrolled in this program are required to have access to a portable computer device (laptop or tablet) that can be taken on campus to complete examination and assessment activities. This device must meet the minimum system requirements for Examplify.
The School has a small number of loan devices that may be available to students who do not have access to a personal device. Students must apply for access to loan devices in the lead up to an examination or assessment. Please note the School cannot guarantee a loan device will be available for every applicant.
If you are an International student on a student visa, you must ensure that you enrol in a way that will allow you to complete your enrolment within the expected program duration as stated on your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE).
