We focus on practise-based learning and our students learn about creating relationships from day one. You'll be embedded in your community from your first semester and will be mentored by community leaders. Understand how to connect with every student as an individual and develop meaningful relationships with students, parents and the wider school community.
Prerequisites
Successful completion of an Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent).
Applicants intending to study this course in NSW (Sydney Campus) must also:
1. possess at least a Band 4 result in a prior HSC mathematics course, or
2. have undertaken at least 0.125 EFTSL (1 unit) of mathematics/numeracy in the prior bachelor degree or equivalent qualification, or
3. pass a bridging unit (in addition to the course units) that is benchmarked to a NSW Education Standards Authority HSC Band
English language requirement
7.0 IELTS (Academic) with no individual band less than 7.0 and a score of no less than 7.5 in Speaking and Listening.
Master of Teaching (Primary) intended learning outcomes
Evaluate literacy and numeracy needs for all stakeholders in a teacher education context.
Design, plan and implement a range of developmentally and educationally appropriate programs in Primary contexts.
Demonstrate the capacity to act as a reflective practitioner across a range of educational settings.
Design and implement assessment, feedback and reporting strategies, that complement and support learning processes and are inclusive of diagnostic, formative and summative practices.
Demonstrate well-developed, professional knowledge and skills of teaching, including state curricula, curriculum theory, teaching methodologies and classroom management which are aligned to the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (APST).
Investigate and evaluate current and predicted future practices in teaching, schooling and education, including appropriate practices to diverse and inclusive needs students, managing changing learning environments, and priority needs in the education system.
Work independently and collaboratively with peers, colleagues and supervisors in the preparation, application and/or evaluation of teaching and learning experiences and resources for effective student learning.
Appraise and analyse emerging developments in the practice and research of education in order to maintain professional skills and knowledge.
Demonstrate advanced written and oral skills.

A$34 600 per 120 credit points.
Note: 120 credit points represents full-time study for one year.
