If you're passionate about teaching and are keen to build a rewarding career in secondary school teaching, La Trobe's Master of Teaching (Secondary) is for you. Get the skills, experience and confidence you need to make a real difference in the classroom.

Feel completely prepared from your first day. Through a combination of practical and evidence-based learning, you'll gain the confidence and knowledge to help shape the lives of our next generation.

You'll develop up to two curriculum specialisations that you'll take straight into the classroom when you graduate. Choose from science, languages, arts, psychology, physical education and many more. Or delve deeper in your area of interest with a specialisation in drama, mathematics, physical education, business management, commerce and business, science and visual arts.

Learn the most up-to-date skills for the modern classroom. Understand the needs of diverse learners and gain the skills and experience to succeed in any classroom. You'll prepare for classroom teaching with extensive in-school experience and guidance from our highly experienced and dedicated teaching academics.

• Demonstrate well-developed, professional knowledge and skills of teaching, including state curricula, curriculum theory, teaching methodologies and classroom management which are aligned to the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (APST).
• Investigate and evaluate current and future practices in teaching, schooling and education, including appropriate practices to diverse and inclusive needs students, managing changing learning environments, and priority needs in the education system.
• Work independently and collaboratively with peers, colleagues and supervisors in the preparation, application and/or evaluation of teaching and learning experiences and resources for effective student learning.
