U.S. Embassy Announces Changes to Visa Services in Nepal

Kathmandu – The U.S. Embassy in Kathmandu announced changes in its visa services in Nepal. Effective from February 8, 2025, applicants will access a new system. Applicants will be required to create a new profile in the updated system, including existing users.

According to the official announcement, the new system will include a new login interface, profile, and appointment scheduling interface. Among the key updates, each applicant, including children, will be required to be linked with one valid email address in their profile. Applicants who paid their visa fees prior to or on February 3, 2025, and have not linked these fees to their profile will need to claim their receipt using the "Sign up now" option.

The transition shall affect GSS services from February 5 to 7, 2025: fee payment services, call centre support, and interview reschedule/ schedule shall not be available. Whereas, passport pick-up, passport submission, interview waiver and 221(g) document processing will remain functional.

Visa interviews scheduled for the period, between February 5-7, 2025, however, shall occur unabated.
